Dr. Ronda Železný-Green

Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Ronda Železný-Green leads datocracy with a vision, purpose, and unwavering commitment to achieve equity and justice. A digital changemaker, Ronda designs transformative social learning systems that empower Black people, women, individuals with disabilities, and other historically excluded communities to thrive in the data, tech and education sectors.

With two decades of professional experience spanning five continents and the public, private, and civil society spheres, Ronda is a force for change. A Black and Indigenous woman excelling with ADHD, her work embodies datocracy’s values, with career hallmarks including:

* learning/educating with tech and data;
* championing, coaching, and mentoring women in tech and data; and
* empowering people to use data and digital technologies as transformative tools to live their best lives.

Jessica Brown

Communications Advisor

Jessica Brown brings her brilliance as a Communications Advisor to datocracy, shaping and amplifying our brand’s voice, look, and feel. With over six years of experience at the intersection of technology, gender, climate, and social justice, Jessica’s work exemplifies the transformative power of inclusive communication.

Her leadership in marketing and communications has driven impact on a global scale. From steering the UK government’s £1 billion Ayrton Fund, one of its largest climate-focused programs, to working with governments, NGOs, DFIs, and MDBs through her roles at GSMA Foundation, Shell Foundation, and Carbon Trust, Jessica has continuously pushed boundaries toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals..

With nearly a decade of experience spanning corporate analytics and social impact initiatives, Maathangi specializes in designing data-driven, gender-responsive strategies that center marginalized voices and empower underserved communities, particularly women in the informal sector.

Her work embodies the power of technology and data as tools for sustainable development, driving women’s leadership and economic empowerment in communities too often left behind. Maathangi brings a strong foundation in data analysis from her early career as a Decision Scientist at Mu Sigma.

Ubongabasi Obot

Ubongabasi Obot

Ubongabasi Obot is an internationally recognised expert in digital rights, privacy, and AI governance, with over 12 years of experience across Africa, Europe, and North America. A fellow in privacy (FIP, CIPM, CIPT, CIPP/E, CIPP/C), she has supported civil society organisations (CSOs), multilateral institutions, and academic bodies in building secure, rights-based digital ecosystems. Her career spans teaching responsible data management and AI ethics, legal practice, policy development, and digital advocacy. As a Legal Fellow at the Institute of Human Rights and Development in Africa, and Legal Counsel at Inimfon & Co. and Nwoko & Co., Ubongabasi worked on human rights litigation, digital rights defence, and regional capacity-building under the African Charter and ECOWAS frameworks. She also works in the global north advising C-suite executives on privacy and AI governance compliance. She has designed and delivered digital security training for Data.org USA, University of Surrey, United Kingdom, Digital Panolopy, Data Science Organisation of Nigeria, and the International Institute of Social Studies (Erasmus University), The Netherlands. Her courses and materials have reached over 1 million learners and trained 600+ leaders globally. Currently completing a PhD in Law (AI Ethics & Governance) at the University of Surrey, she brings deep academic and practical insight to strengthening digital resilience. Her unique ability to translate legal frameworks into impactful advocacy tools and locally resonant training and advocacy tools makes her a uniquely qualified. Her global reach, African roots, and deep commitment to social justice position her as a strategic asset in advancing digital resilience, making her a valuable partner for digital security initiatives.

Blaise Booponoyeng Bayuo

Blaise Booponoyeng Bayuo

Blaise is a technology and public policy researcher with a multidisciplinary background spanning development planning, software engineering, entrepreneurship, and digital innovation ecosystems. He has built and scaled global software companies from Africa across sectors, including e-commerce and Web3—his first company was acquired in 2018. Since 2016, Blaise has worked at the nexus of innovation, technology, and public policy in emerging economies, consulting across private and public sectors. He currently leads the AI in Economic Policymaking project with Africa for Economic Policymaking and previously served as a Research Assistant in Economic History at Lund University, Sweden, co-authoring peer-reviewed papers on social innovation and development. Blaise worked at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, focusing on tech policy. His work led to the publication of reports on Africa’s tech ecosystem, highlighting how investments in technology can drive job creation. He also contributed to climate financing reports for Africa and research on digital identity systems, examining their fundamental design and implementation for last-mile populations. Beyond his policy research, he has collaborated with national governments and leading research organizations, including Smart Africa and I4Policy, to develop digital policy tools and platforms to equip African policymakers with data-driven solutions. He holds a Master’s in Innovation and Sustainable Development from Lund University and a professional certificate in software and entrepreneurship from the Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST).

Mohamed Merrouch is a tech-savvy, impact-driven professional with a solid foundation in computer science and a passion for leveraging digital tools to drive meaningful change. With experience spanning full-stack development, product management, and digital consultancy, Mohamed has worked across diverse international teams and led projects that range from educational platforms to e-commerce ecosystems. Known for his natural leadership, adaptability, and problem-solving mindset, Mohamed combines strategic thinking with hands-on technical execution. He is known for his ability to quickly grasp complex systems, manage teams effectively, and communicate across technical and non-technical audiences. His journey from student leader to tech consultant reflects his deep commitment to learning, collaboration, and creating value through technology, especially in education, social entrepreneurship, and innovation across the MENA region. He thrives under pressure, juggles multiple projects with precision, and always brings a human-centered approach to his work. Whether building scalable solutions in React and Spring Boot, mentoring future developers, or advising on digital transformation, Mohamed approaches every challenge with curiosity, care, and purpose.

Ruth Nduta Muriithi

Ruth is a software entrepreneur-in-training at MEST Africa in Accra, Ghana, and a graduate student pursuing a Master’s in Big Data at the University of East London. She holds a BSc in Electrical and Telecommunication Engineering from Multimedia University of Kenya and a diploma in Data Science from Moringa School. With a growing portfolio of AI projects, Ruth is passionate about building inclusive AI applications in Africa, particularly through translation technologies that improve access across language barriers. She is currently part of the RIC project, collaborating with a diverse team to build a venture addressing challenges in education, health, or climate across the continent. Ruth is deeply committed to learning, growing, and innovating alongside others. When she’s not building tech products, she enjoys painting and dancing as ways to unwind and spark creativity.

Sandrine is a results-oriented data analyst with over a decade of experience in enterprise analytics, operations, and data strategy. She specializes in transforming complex datasets into actionable insights that drive performance, streamline operations, and support evidence-based decision-making. With deep expertise in tools such as Power BI, SQL, and statistical modeling, Sandrine has led high-impact analytics initiatives that improved organizational efficiency, reduced reporting cycles, and accelerated the adoption of data-driven strategies across teams. Her approach blends technical precision with a strong emphasis on responsible AI, A/B testing, and compelling data storytelling. Sandrine is particularly passionate about using data to promote social impact and equity, and brings a human-centered lens to her analytical work. Whether developing dashboards, mentoring junior analysts, or leading strategic data projects, she remains committed to advancing ethical and inclusive data practices.
